Sacred occasions celebrated with devotion at Shree Suvarna Temple
Nag Panchami is the most significant and grandest festival celebrated at Shree Suvarna Temple. As the temple is home to the sacred golden Nag Devi (cobra) wrapped around the Shiva Lingam, this festival holds an unparalleled importance for the temple and its devotees.
Every year during the auspicious month of Shravan (August), thousands of devotees gather at the temple to witness and participate in the magnificent celebrations. The festivities include a grand procession through the streets of Powai, drawing devotees from across Mumbai and beyond.
The celebrations feature a special Nag Puja performed with elaborate rituals, a massive community feast (Bhandara) where thousands are served prasad, and vibrant cultural programs including devotional music, dance performances, and spiritual discourses. The entire temple is adorned with flowers, lights, and traditional decorations, creating an atmosphere of divine festivity.
